Hello and Happy New Year to you all!
Here I sit in my chilly house in Surrey with a foot of snow outside and only a fat cat for company! And I am a girl, though I do have my own tool box..I am in a spot of bother..at least for 2 days until the warmsure man comes to my rescue.
I have searched this site and learnt a lot! The boiler is making a lot of liquidy gurgly noises when the thermostat clicks on and central heating is needed! The boiler then makes what can only be described as a jet engine noise that lasts for a good minute as it tries to do something, then allgoes quite and F L comes up on the display.I know this means failure to light.
Now with the ice outside I read that the condensation pipe may be blocked,so I have poured hot water on it 3 times and cleared the drain which it goes into.Came in pressed restart and low and behold it started and my radiators became warm..for about 15 mins. Then same old trouble.
I have read about clearing a condensation trap but don't know what this is.
So might there be anything else I can do beside drink Baileys and hug the cat whilst waiting for the engineer who already cancelled once?
ps I have tried 'loving' the boiler and giving it positive energy, but it was very unresponsive
Thank you so much for listening to my ramblings!
Best Wishes
