Right here goes...
Basically we have a Baxi Solo 2 (50 RS?) fitted in the house since new (approx 18yrs?) Also have a huge hot water cylinder that has leaks on fittings to it.
Was quoted nearly £1000 to replace tank - think it is called a thermal store...
Also not getting great hot water unless water/immersion on for considerable time.
So was thinking of getting a combi fitted so we get hot water on demand and get a few quid back for scrappage scheme thingy...
So far have been quoted £3100 for a Weissman with 5yr warranty (including replacing 2 radiators) -seems a little high?

A good quick test for gas boilers is to see if it has a permanent pilot light -if it has then it is very likely to be a G-rated boiler. If it is gas fired and over fifteen years old it is likely to be eligible. If it is oil fired and over twenty five years old, it is likely to be eligible.

No chance of money back not having seen the system its hard to say re price, But i would be happy to quote for the job if you dont get a price that suits you.
I preffer to install INTERGAS combi (3 year warrantee ) but also install Veissmann with 5year warrantee.

According to list on british gas is approx 65% efficient - well below G rating?

The Solo 2 does not appear in the Sedbuk database!
Is older than a Solo 3? But ios in british gas list as per llink....

But that's not the official list!
The problem is, the Solo 2 does not appear on any known database, not even under pseudonyms.
boiler , trvs +lockshields , wireless stat etc 2500 quid .( vaillant or baxi)
What about a Worcester/Bosch?? Same kind of price??
