Hi,

We have an Ideal Isar HE24 combi which stopped working last week. After reading this forum we changed the PCB (to the newer orange one) and hooray it all came back to life.

But now the boiler is not turning off automatically, all the radiators are boiling hot. It's gone from one extreme to the other. You set the temperature but it goes beyond this.

The only way to stop it is t turn it off on the boiler itself.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Iv tried all the usual such as reset, batteries in control unit , cables in properly, etc

Any ideas?

Thanks

I just wanted to add that the only way to fire up the boiler is by the button so the light comes on green (not sure what that wall gadget is called)

Did you set the links at top right of the PCB just vlike the old one?

If so did you inspect the back of the connector to the display/control PCB as they usually suffer water damage from a leaking PRV and that takes out the main PCB.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Yes the connections seem fine, its been connected the same as the old board ( despite the incorrect instructions in the box)

So all that seems fine, the display PCB also seems ok.
