hi guys my main circuit breaker is faulty is burning

its a merlin gerin CGD-100MS, 100A/ AC22A, 230/400V DONE GOOGLE SEARCH AND CANT FIND A MATCH OR ALTERNATIVE CAN ANYONE HELP
???

Can you post a photo?
Merlin Gerin now comes under the branding of "Schneider Electric"
Is it a main switch or an RCCB (an RCCB has a test button on it)?
Maybe just a coincidence with MG codes, CGD (Control Gear Direct) is another manufacturer but their quality is nowhere near the same as MG.

trying to take a pic with or without flash using decent camera getting nowhere!!!! its a controlgear direct as there symbol on it and most of the mcbs......

checked there website seems to be this main switch on this
page.. http://www.controlgeardirect.co.uk/consumer8.html

that's a very cheap brand, and not Merlin Gerin

tell us more about the burning

do any of your friends or neighbours know a good electrician?

are you far from the nearest fire station?

oh you are very funny!!!!!

mate is electrician came with another mcb but would not fit therefore trying to get match

I have to agree with JohnD, CGD are very budget. If it is a Merlin Gerin consumer unit then it is a good idea to fit Merlin Gerin products as they are fully type tested, but unfortunately being a good brand bumps up the price a bit!

all the mcbs have got that cgd title and brand stamp on it....

friend could have fitted other one which mcbwas bigger in height but would mean cutting the prongs it slips into and he said if you are slightly short ... no electric...
