Underneath the boiler on the right hand side, you will find a blue lever valve and a black lever valve. Turn one valve 90degrees, and then turn the other valve 90 degrees. The pressure gauge which is underneath the boiler on the left hand side should read 1.5bar before turning the valves off.

thanks for that So when i have done that and got the pressure to 1.5 Can i then bleed the rads.

great stuff .So i will be running up and down the stairs i assume Or is it something i should cope with alone

You'll know when you need to top it back up as you'll lose pressure while venting.

Just make sure you don't go above 1.2 ish when putting the pressure back in.

Also make sure you're doing this whilst the boiler is off and the system is cold.

Done all that bled the rads kept the pressure bob on
Now i have a problem the domestic hot water is fine and the boiler kicks in great but wont heat the rads i have reset the boiler turned the dial to heating setting but it doesnt show anything on the display just a 0 AND d when i am on domestic This is a little used boiler about 2 years old i believe
My daughter tells me the thermostat was "iffy" I wondered if i could bypass it to try and get her up and running I know i need to have a procedure so if you could help thanks

i understand , Could i switch of mains and loop a wire across the 2 terminals in a junction box in the gas cupboard that supplies the stat and is live i have checked It is easy to get to or use your method thanks

Yes you can certainly do that in the junction box if you can definitely identify the connections from the room thermostat. That sounds easier than getting into the boiler itself.

Just make sure you are connecting the thermostat Live and Switched Live together and definitely don't connect either to a Neutral cable if your thermostat uses a 3 core connecting wire.

ok once again thanks I have "looped" the thermostst 2 wires ,basic tower thermo as suggested
and the boiler kicked into life with the symbol C which it didnt before i "looped" it So its supplyng the rads I ran it for a good 30 mins but no sign of heat coming through any rads Iwas going to bleed again but reckoned they cant all be full of air and surely a couple would have warmed up i would have left it on CH but i was bothered i would damage something Is there anything else i could try

I have got as far as obtaining domestic hot water but when I put boiler onto CH. I get L2 flashing twice before it goes onto C but know hot rads. Thanks

Check that BOTH of the isolating valves on the two CH pipes under boiler are turned on.

If they are then it sounds like a boiler fault associated with the diverter valve perhaps. That will probably need an engineer.

The boiler is probably still under guarantee if it has been annually serviced as required.
