hi all

i have a Classic FF370 boiler and the pilot light is not lit and it will not light even though i have followed the instructions. I have read previous threads about it - but my fan seems to be working (i have had that problem) as my friend checked it for me and he could feel the fan working. the boiler has started to make some noises (it didn't previously) but i still have no heating. we have had this problem several times and there has been some confusion over where the bar should be (it did go down to 0) i have now changed the bar to 1.5 and tried to relight the pilot light but i have had no joy - also i do seem to have hot water but i am not certain if this is because of the immersion heater or that only the heating part of the boiler is broken - any help or advice would be appreciated. thank you. :D

the overheat may have tripped, the reset is, IIRC, to the right of control box, inside the pull down fascia.

i have had a look at that but its not like a proper button - i know i may sound very dim but what do i do with the reset button?

If it has tripped just push it back in to reset it then try the boiler again

This boiler doen't have a water pressure sensor in it so low pressure would not stop it firing, just do it no good.

If the fan is spinning, but the pilot won't light can you hear any sparking? (clicking)

If not I would suspect the aps first off, then possibly a blocked pilot injector.

thanks

The aps is working and has proved the fan. Sounding more like a blocked pilot or possible a gas valve fault now.
