Help identifying bolt i need.

Hi i need to replace the handle bolts on my lawn mower, it's for the handle which folds down for easy storage. it has a plastic butterfly type handle on one side and the other side has the square bit on it which stops it moving in the metal tube of the handle, but the metal tube has worn and the bolts just turns in the hole!

I am after a replacement but something that has a handle/grip on both sides so it will be easy to tighnen and untighten.

sorry i don't know the correct terms for these bolts!

Can anyone reccomend something suitable.

I would use a short length of allthread with a wing nut on either end. Here is a piccy of a wing nut and they sell them at hardware or diy shops.

An alternative would be to cut a slot in the existing bolt, with a hacksaw, and use a screwdriver instead of the square.

you could [space permitting] use a bolt and spanner or try a split washer or spring washer which should give you enough grip certaily worth a try go to your local hardware shop or garage should cost pence
