I have a stelgrad boiler and use a summer valve. This morning I used the summer valve to use my radiators and they have only been lukewarm all day and the "hot" water from the taps is lukewarm only. Any ideas??

Have you checked the boiler stat is turned up about 3/4 the way round?

What do you mean by a summer valve? Is it just a gate valve that is turned off in the summer?

You may have possibly opened the system bypass fully instead of this?

Possible that if boiler stat is on high then it has failed.

Yes it is a gate valve so that the radiatiors don't come on in the summer. I have turned the correct valve but the problem has existed since doing that. prior to that the hot water was fine.

Have you used this "summer valve" before to control the radiators?

It sounds more like you've fully opened the bypass valve and hence low temperatures.

just trying something with the rocker switch on the boiler will let you know how it goes - many many thanks for your help .
