Help,matt paint in kitchen - sealing required

Does anyone know of a product which can be painted over matt paint to seal it and prevent peeling etc.
My daughter is decorating her first house and is adamant about having a slightly textured matt paint on the walls which is not designed for kitchen use.
I've pointed out the problems she's likely to have but she wants this paint and says she'll just touch up when necessary.
As they both work full time, are preparing for a baby and have a complete house to do out I think this is one unnecessary job too many so I hope someone out there can help. Thanks

Acrylic varnish or protective glaze...they do it in Jonstones
