I DID NOT mention chasing- that is THE POINT.

It was YOU who mentioned CHASING

ANY method which ends up with the cable 50mm or more below finished wall level is acceptable to the regs for ins and sheathed cables. I have a personal preference for it being more than that¬ say 100mm or more the better for instance

My second, preferred option is to build out (stud) the wall that contains the CU and diagonal wiring so that the wires are at least 60 mm deep.
