help on painting over shocking navy blue fence

hi
im after any help/tips with regards painting over a navy blue ( i know) fence. we moved in to this property and last year attempted to start paining the navy blue fencing. Obviously replacing the fence is a expensive job but just wondered if anyone might have advice to repaint /what colour.
we did try last year with curpinol dark oak and a few coats at that, and the blue just bleeds through.
any help is greatly appreciated

When the boot fairs start - and the weather is warm - get cheap tins of white undercoat or primer or gloss - NOT water based or emulsion - knock it all up together and roller it on then wipe off @ random with old rags it'll give a nice weathered look with the blue grinning through the white.
