Help please my Boiler won't fire up

Myson apollo fanfare boiler.
Help needed please.
Turn on C/H and can hear motorised valve move, pump starts spinning and then very short fire up from boiler.
After that initial fire up it won't fire up again.
Turn on H/W, pump starts spinning but just won't fire up.
Pilot light is on and no problem with that.
Really doing my head in.
Any suggestions please as to what the problem could be?

When you turn the HW on does the pump keep turning, even though the boiler is not running?

Yes the pump keeps running when H/W is selected, it always has done.

More likely to be a boiler problem, which means a Gas Safe Registered engineer to diagnose and repair.

Not pump, more like a air pressure switch or fan, job for GSR

How do you know the boiler fires for a short time when you run the CH? On the basis of what you've said, this has only happened once and then it has died for good.

But I'm going to assume that if you left it a while, the same thing would happen, again and again. You just haven't made this clear in your write up?

Have you tried starting it in HW mode?

Is the timer the built in clockwork one, or is it on the wall?

Do you have a 3 port or 2x2 port motorised valve (or some other arrangement?)

How long does the main burner run before it stops?

Whereabouts is the gas meter?
