help with double glazed door and lock

hi all

i have a double glazed UPVC door, however the problem i have with it is there is no door handle or lever on the inside!

all there is to open / lock the door internally is a eurocylinder thumbturn handle on the inside and the key operation on the outside.

essentially all i have on the door is this;

the thumbturn isnt that big and more often than not it causes difficulty for people exiting the house.

does anyone have any ideas as to how i can get something bigger installed on the inside to act as more of a handle as opposed to just the small(ish) thumbturn bolt?

an ideal solution would be to replace the internal thumbturn with something much bigger to allow more grip etc.
