can anyone help with advice please

John sydney brassware ltd is maker it says so on taps
bath mixer tap where the actual taps face forward to turn
has a telephone type shower attachment in cradle on top

Problem is it started dripping then actual slow running
after finally and a long time managed to work out how to get it dismantled to put on new flat rubber washers

problem is that the flat metal holder that the washer fits into (on the bottom of the valve ) and held with small screw has its raised edge broken off,so that the washer has nothing to support its edge.

so after putting in new washers still dripping but not as bad think washer is splaying out anywhere cos no side support

can i buy new valves ie the part that has the spindle at one end and the washer at the other?

if so can anyone advise what i need ie where to go and what to ask for ie sizes lengths diameters etc

i cant really take it out again till put in a new one or waters got to be turned off and the main stop tap is a pain to get to.so i only want to do it one more time and get it right

any help appreciated along with suppiers websites pics of what is needed etc

by the way cant fit the standard taps cos they would be difficult to turn as they would be very near to wall, thats why its a front facing mixer

its not the easiest post to read.....
it seems you have a washer problem.
if your struggling why not contact the manufacturer and ask them what you need

tried the website of j sydney brassware ltd

and cant find the item or anyway to contact them

appears they manufacture but not distribute

yes it is a washer problem

but the part that the washer fixes to ie the valve or insert or whatever is damaged and the washer does not seat.
therefore i need to get the new valve the piece the washer fits onto
but dont know if there are many types or if i can get a universal valve
