Well, if you look at where they're connected on the existing fitting.. you only have L, N, and PE.

Seems easy. The black with the brown sheath goes to one side of the lamp and is coloured brown so would appear to be marked as live. The two on the other side are both neutrals, albeit one is pre-harmonised.

And the green/ yellow goes to the earth terminal.

If you are in any way confused please get an electrician to swap the light fitting for you.

Both the blue and the black go into the neutral terminal together.
The black sleeved brown to the live terminal
And the earths to the earth terminal.

You have no loop in live cables to loop in, so it is not required.

thanks guys, taking from our George Michael Reference , i knew that 2 become 1 ala the spice girls but i was leaning toward the 2 blacks together so im glad i checked it out first. ill be using the upmost of care when doing the change.

You mustn't see it as two blacks because one of the conductors

a. is a switched live.

b. is marked with brown tape, indicating it is no longer performing a neutral function.
