Hi.

At the moment I have one central ceiling light which is wired to a traditional switch.

What I wish to do is remove the ceiling light and replace with 3 of these in a row, slightly separated so they are still controlled by the same single switch: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00134368/

Does anyone know how I should wire this or what additional materials I'll need?

I understand how to replace one light with another, I'm just not too sure how to connect additional lights.

This light unit doesn't have a traditional ceiling rose so you will need to replace the current ceiling rose by following these instructions.
//www.diynot.com/wiki/electrics:lighting:rose

This will give you a live loop - a switched live - a neutral loop and an earth loop in a four way terminal block.

For the first light you will need to take a piece of 1mm T&E and connect the switch live to the L and the neutral to the N on the lamp unit- I do not think these lights have a an earth connection but if there is connect the earth - don't forget the earth insulation. If there is no earth on the lamp unit then just insulate it and tape it back.
For the second light you will need to run 1mm T&E cable from the four way terminal block to the second light - connecting the brown cable to the incoming switch live the blue cable to the incoming neutral loop and incoming earth loop -make sure the earths have an insulated sleeve.
At the second light connect another three way terminal block and place the brown, blue and earth cables in their own terminals. Again connect the brown to the L and blue to the N on the lamp unit with another small piece of 1mm T&E. Repeat the same process for the third light.

Sorry, don't understand a word of that!

So why would the "switch" line block not contain a black?
Not the ideal way but it happens.
