boiler and stat are in back bedroom

stat set to full (30)cos wife is always cold

no its my other bedroom and yes the trv is fully open, unless i turn it 1/4 down to stop the noise. When the noise starts again i re-open it fully and it stops

remove it. you should not have a room with the wall stat in and a trv as well,
as they play against each other.
you can unscrew your plastic top half from the valve by hand. on the knurled section.

You.. roomstat does not affect a noisy trv, mentioning roomstat is only confusing the guy

hi spec

thanx so much for your time and assistance...as the topic seems to be getting heated i will try out your suggestion and re-post if the problem is solved (or not)

once again thanx

you will more than likely still have to change the other trv cause it's faulty.
but just stating about the room with the wall stat is you don't fit a trv in that room

don't worry about the pratts as they don't have any time for people , they think everyone one should understand just cause they do.

I can tell you what the problem is and how to cure it if you answer the dam question.

Take the head off the radiator valve that makes the noise and the problem is solved.

yes or no.

C`mon Hi-spec calm down.

Namsag is one of the very knowledgeable chaps on here whom you can turn to for advice or a slating

Not many "pratts" as you put it spend time helpping others in ther free time

The op wanted info not a complete run down of how a system and controls should be laid out  . you must of been in the game long enough to know 9 out of ten heating systems will have something not upto current standards 8)

Chill dude :P
