Now with fear of getting dragged into the squabling, I have come across this problem loads of times, it has always been that the TRV is installed in the incorrect direction. Ensuring the flow was traveling the correct direction sorted the problem everytime.

We even had a few systems of Danfoss RAS valves that were faulty, were as chatty as a grannies meeting. Danfoss admited they had a batch of faulty valves and paid for the replacement.

It would be a lot better if the Op would answer the questions, and give us more details about the system.

Totally agree Waterworxw.
You only have to look at the design of the valve itself up close.
The one in the pic is an old non bi-directional Myson and you will note the solid looking construction.
It would be virtualy impossible for this valve to chatter given the correct flow even with high differential pressures far exceeding the manufacturers limits as it will be pressed firmly against the pressure pin which in turn is pressed firmly against the bellows chamber.

I can appreciate that i am slow in replying to some requests and to be honest reading all the diferent opinions and methods for rectifying my problem is as confusing as hell;the arrow points towards the radiator and and the fsr side seems to get warmer quicker but...hot water flows in quite quickly as i can feel it entering at the bottom. does this go some way to appesing those who are berating my slow response(due to being at work today)

YOUR TRV IS FITTED ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE RADIATOR.

NAMSAG GAVE THE ANSWER ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS THREAD.

Employ a reputable plumber and he will change it over for you.

Seems to get hot is not really an answer, a hand on both ends and you can tell for certain.

What happens when you remove the head of the valve.

And what happens when you turn the other valves down slowly.

Well, don't think the OP will be back, he got a tad ****ed off with the bickering and left even more confused. Such a simple problem with a simple solution which was ignored due to ppl trying to be to clever

Unidirectional TRVs (no apostrophe!) judder with reverse flow when they are close to closing and the differential pressure is quite high (most other TRVs shut). Those of us who grub around at the boring domestic level know this only too well.
