I didn't know if this forum allows Newbie/Introduction threads but thought I'd create one and could only think it'd be suited to this section more than any other.

So, my name's Damian but friends call me Damo. I'm currently 27 years of age and I live in Hampshire, UK.

I'm currently employed as an Architectural Technician for a company in Woking, Surrey and have been there for a total of 5 1/2 years. I have also worked for Building Control for three years, a Civil and Structural CAD Technician for one year, another Architects practice for one year and I have also worked for a housing developer as a Technical Co-ordinator where I was running several projects for approx. eleven months before I was made redundant due to the construction climate, which is now... "hopefully" picking back up again :)

As well as working a normal full time job as an AT, I do a fair share of private drawing work for clients, which require planning and building regulation applications be submitted to the local authorities.

I have a few hobbies and the one that is at the top of the list is that I'm a French car enthusiast. I have had eight cars since passing my test and six of them have been French and I currently own a Renault Clio 172. I also run/own a car website in my "spare" time. Haha!

I have come across this website/forum before but only decided to register this evening... well it was yesterday now  You will mostly find me in the Building Regulations and Planning Permission forum section as that is where I feel I really specialise in. I have tried my best to answer as many threads/topics in there already and will quite happily answer more and any other queries.

Speak to you soon.

Damo

Welcome.

The French only made 2 cars that were of any interest. Both made by Citroen, the DS and the Traction Avant.

Afraid the rest is cack! ;)

I'd like to welcome you.... I'd like to but one of my split personalities forbids it!

Haha! The Renault's are the only French manufacturer that have gone from strength to strength
:)

Yes, propped up by billions of Euros from the French government.

I hope you meant 'in the last 6 years' otherwise...

Taken from the recent publication of MOT failure rates on the Department of Transport's Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) website...
French cars feature highly in the top ten passenger car failures, taking five of the worst places - with those two vans removed from the data. Behind the Renault is its Peugeot 307 rival with a 24.7% failure rate - the same as the Vauxhall Corsa - while the Renault Scenic posts a 23% failure rate.

As you'll find out (if you stay), we're an unforgiving lot!

Meaning me and my personalities of course.

The Deux Chevaux deserves a mention.

I liked the CX. The last "real" Citroen before the merger with Peugeot.

And in profile, rather like an SD1.
