High Integrity Earths

Hi

I've seen a few posts on here where people have described using high integrity earths (most recently the log cabin post). I've not seen anything about them in my domestic guides though (although they are a few years old).

Is this primarily a commercial thing that is starting to make its way into larger domestic installations or just over-keen sparkies? I've never seen a requirement for them (I'm not a pro).

Thanks

Mainly for offices with lots of compuers etc.

IT rooms, call centres etc.

No requirement in a domestic unless there is the forseeable....

these are special locations and have their own section in the regs, section 607.

it is primarily for places like offices and schools etc where large numbers of computers will be used..

if you have a 4 bedroom house with 4 kids and an office and all the kids have computers as well as one in the office then it might apply..
