Hikoki / Hitachi gassless framing nailer

Off getting fixed? The DW never went away - I always did my own spanner work on it on the rare occasions it required any.

I quite like the sound of the dewalt now!
Already got hitachi batteries though



A friend has a paslode (I think he gets the boxes of nails through someones work )
He doesn't use it often, but it sounds like everytime he wants to use it, it needs service. And doesn't like the cold.

My work colleague had one of those contraptions.
It only lasted a short while. At the time I was thinking about purchasing one but his experiences soon made me think other wise.
If you don't intend to do a lot of nailing, its probably OK.

They don't, unless you buy the i360, but if you do that it locks you into Paslode gas and nails which cost a out twice the market average. Gas nailers have always been the same - in winter you need to keep one or even two (one each side) gas canisters in your trouser front pockets to keep the gas from freezing, which it can do even if the cannister is inside the gun..... All of which can be a tad uncomfortable.

Another reason (which I'd forgotten) why I detest gas guns. The reason I keep them is to "gun up" a anyone arriving to work on my team who doesn't have a gun already, to act as backup, or loaners, etc. I, too, generally have gas and nails supplied.

Gas nailers have always been the same

Not so. We run six Senco's on sites right through winter and cold is never an issue.
The rawlplug fuel cell gas is rated down to -5.
We certainly don't walk around with the cells stuffed down our trousers.

Still no sign of these nailers being back in stock, spoke to Hikoki UK and they say there is a shipment due in January!

I run a property maintenance business and have been renovating my property and brought the Hikoki framing nailer for a DIY closeboard fence project.
Have since used it for several more such fences and have been very pleased with it.
Used with 50mm galv ring shanks and can easily adjust the depth gauge for 100mm feather edge and its pretty quiet too. People complain about weight but i've not found it to be an issue, and i'm an racing cyclist so have literally no upper body strength.
£400 for the gun plus 2x5a batts, charger and systainer. Nice.
No idea why people would buy a framing nail gun that uses gas these days, other than weight maybe.

I just got new dw type3 with the 2power settings and am impressed that much me 360 has been slung in the shed I went for the DeWalt as can fire full head an clipped where as the Hi can only fire clipped nails
