Holding up a tile so it doesn't sag whille drying

Tips please for holding up the odd tile so it doesn't sag while it dries. Such as part tiles behind a radiator.
Will masking tape do it for thin 6 inch kitchen tiles?
Sometimes there is no room to nail a batten. Or the number of tiles to fit doesn't justify it.
