HOMEWORK QUESTION 2

You have to walk 4 horizontal roads and 12 verticals.

Good fun!

 Mistake I made early on, not reading the question properly, was to think the answer was a block, but the question wants the answer as a node and from GCS you have to walk 3 blocks (or roads) across and 11 down to get to it.

This, as previously posted, shows number of blocks to any location moving only East or South...
Read off the number at a desired destination.
Whichever route taken to that point, S or E moves only, result in same number of blocks traversed ... Americana !

10,15 is 25 blocks from 0,0

Pascal's Triangle, who needs it. We are thinking about a new carpet and I roughly measured it at 33 square metres. Last night my wife was working with tyhe calculator and I asked her to work out 33 times £58.75 (the price per square metre). Before she could even key the figures in, my son came up with £1938.75 and then continued on his PS2. Although I always new he was well ahead at maths this instant calculation astounded me.

I am not boasting about his capabilities, merely pointing out how he was able to tackle the problems and why he got the gold award.

Take him to a casino and see if he's any good at counting cards
