Honest advice needed!!

gazandlucy, now do you see my point?

enough experience to give a rough figure +/-£1500?

ok, its £1,000, er no sorry mate that will be £2,500

now do you still want +/- £1.5K?

After all a bog standard 4 bedroom house is pretty standard
what insulation has it got, how hot do YOU want the house?

I know i can get an ecotec 630 for £800 AND UNISTOR 260 £800
but that does not include installation or g tee. also it seems (i don't know) that said boilers are known as "budget end boilers"

IMO there is no such thing as a "bog standard" house.

Some of the questions needed to be asked are:

1. When was it built?

2. Does it have floor boards or chipboard flooring,

3. Is it double glazed?

4. Have there been any extensions added to the house?

5. Is it next door to a heating merchants? ;)

All these questions (and many, many more) could only really be answered by a site visit/survey.

My rule of thumb for telephone quoting comes to £6500 but gas supply upgrades, mains water upgrades, chipboard floors would all increase the cost, so £7500 would perhaps be more realistic.

I with three showers and a bath then 310 litres is the size I would recommend but it does all depend on the number of people living there.

So an ectotec 630 is classed as a "budget boiler"??

Would any one recommed a Veissmann 333f?
