Hi,

Newbie here (be gentle)

We have 2 Weil McLain thankless boilers to heat the home and water.

They work great in principle, but as the installation guy stated. "The exterior plumbing parts not included, are junk".

This is going to be the 3rd 3 way valve actuator, replacement part # VC 8710-03 made by Honeywell.

The first was covered by the installer.
The 2nd was not visit, diagnosis and part $500+.

I watched the guy install the boiler and plumbing from day one.
I also watched the guy, yank off that 3 pos. valve actuator and replace it in 2 mins.
Then charge us $500.

My questions are;
Are there any more reliable types of 3 pos valve actuator, for a weil mclain?
How exactly do you remove one?

I was a bit caught off guard during his magic trick, last time.
He had picked up the part, popped the old one off and popped the new one on.

He said tap it hard and it will come on, so when this one started failing again, I did it and it works.

Now when it fails the psi drops, along with the water temp and a small puddle appears near the boiler.

Sorry about the long post.

Please advise.

Thx.

Their web site is fairly impressive, but I've not seen those boilers on sale over here.

You will get more appropriate advice if you post your question on Heating Help, which is a USA based forum. They have definitely heard of your boiler.
