Hot and Cold feeds

In a room there only a cold water supply.Can I connect the hot and cold water hoses together using a Y-piece connector.
In essence can I use a dual feed washing machine on a cold water system.

Agreed, but safer to connect the cold feed to both hot and cold inputs on the machine, rather than relying on the machines valves to keep your domestic hot and cold water apart.
