Hot Water Cylinder 28mm compression fittings 22mm pipework

Hi,

I've had a leaking hot water tank for about 6 yrs, it's just a very very slow weep but it's about time I fix it.

So a friend of mine had his heating system switched over to a combi so has a <2 yr old tank going spare.

It's exactly the same size and pipe positions as mine, so I thought great an easy job

Unfortunately after draining the hot water tank and disconnecting the leaking tank I discovered that the compression fittings are 28mm and not 22mm like the old tank.

My question is, is there such a thing as a male 28-22mm compression fitting reducer, I can find reducers that do 28-22mm but they are always female to female (If I'm assigning the gender the right way)

If there isn't whats t he best course of action.......

Better way - get 22mm x 1" connectors, available in male and female.

Yes, that does make sense, modify the tank to fit the pipework rather than adding something in between

Guess I should check the diameter of the thread pattern inside the tank once I've removed the 28mm coupler already fitted to the tank.
