Hot Water Hassle....Really Appreciate Some Help!

Hi,
I'm having probelms with my Worcester 35CDi boiler (it's an old model with two pumps).
The hot water keeps cycling on/off during a shower.
So far BG have changed the control panel, changed the HE & fitted a Spiral filter (I had a water softener fitted when the bolier was first fitted) and messed around unsuccessfully with the gas pressure (8 visits now..).
They now say its the shower at fault, but I've just had a new shower valve fitted and it makes no difference.
The water from the taps seems to be coming out too hot (almost scalding) even though I've turnt the temperature control on the boiler to minimum.
BG have now said I need a new boiler, but its 8 or 9 years old and does the heating fine.
Any one got any ideas...BG say theres nothing they can do (Ive got a maintenance contract with them).

Does this just happen with the shower or does it happen at the taps too (ie cycling)?

What they really mean is that they dont know how to fix it!

Have they even measured the resistance of the NTC sensors?

However, if you complain enough there is a procedure called a "joint visit" where they get the manufacturers engineer out to identify the problem.

Thanks for the replies.
It does happen on the kitchen tap a bit, but only really noticable on the shower.
The shower stays hotter longer now that I've put temperature on boiler to minimum, but the shower valve is right over to nearly all cold just so it's not scolding.
They havent measured the resistance...last engineer told me this is normal for a combi-boiler and basically 'get used to it', but it did use to work.
I will ask for a 'joint visit'...cant quite face calling them out again yet!

The alternating hot and cold at the hot water outlet suggests a sludge or scale build up in the domestic hot water heat exchanger. either have it replaced or try flushing it. hope you get this sorted pal its a joke how many times plumbers have been out

It may still be a problem with the shower not being compatible with the shower.

First ensure all the shower holes are unblocked and allowing th emaximum flow of water.

If after that the problem persists then run the shower with a basin tap on at half flow.

Hi All,
Thanks for the responses - I've tried the different suggestions.
The shower head is clear and I've got the same problem in another shower room, so pretty sure it's the boiler.
BG have now changed the control panel and heat sensor, but no difference.
I've now asked for a joint visit and BG are going to let me know.....
I'll let you know if I ever get it sorted...but I'm not hopeful!

My quess is that the water is not going thruogh the boiler fast enough.
Try cleaning the cold water inlet filter or turning the cold water inlet stop tap full on.
