aside from my rad problems, as i have been away until yesterday, i have realised today that hot water is not getting to the bathroom at the far end of the bungalow.

we have hot in the kitchen, but, shower, bath and sink have none in bathroom. no water at all comes out.

i believe the pipes go up through the attic and down again, instincts say its frozen but wouldnt the cold water pipe be more likely to be frozen than the hot one?

dammit! i hate when that happens. how the hell does a cold water pipe stay intact while a hot water pipe freezes???

It'd be worth tracing the pipes to see what's what and, even if not frozen now, they ought to be lagged to minimise future risk.

THe hot water pipe in loft the will be as cold as the cold water pipe if you have not drawn hot water at the bathroom. over a prolonged period. I would advise you to take immediate action by turning of the hot water supply and opening all taps, and investigate further.

Had a sneaky peek up there today, pipes are buried among several layers of insulation. But thats at the good end. Not sure i will manage to get a decent look, space is at more than a premium. Anyone know a midget plumber?

I think there is a few over at midgetplumbingspecialists.com

Just watch out for the polish ones, couldn't put a pipe in a snowmans mouth :)
