hotpoint aqurius vdt00 tumble dryer (stops running)

hi folks, the tumble works but then stalls with the motor still humming, if i open door and spin the drum then restart it will then work for another while..

is it the belt? motor? if its the belt is it easy replaced or should throw in in the skip?
