Hi!

I'm not sure what its called, but the spinny thing on the upper basket is no longer spinning!

I have overridden the door switch and watched with the machine running, and although water is getting to the spinny thing (quite a lot of water) it's not spinning.

I have taken the basket out and connected the hosepipe to the inlet and tried again - loads of wtaer but no spinning.

I have checked and cleaned the filters, and ensured that there are no blockages in the sump. I have also ensured that the ball thing in the back of the basket is forced in to the hole that is not in use (this relates to the higher / lower basket option)

The connection between the spinny thing and the basket is quite wobbly, is this right?

Please, if possible help!

Many thanks,

Simon :D

Check all the holes in the spray arms, they get blocked and will prevent the arm spraying.

I can confirm that the holes are clear! It's just been through a full wash, and just about everything that wasn't in the path of the spray arm has come out dirty! It's still not moving at all

Any other ideas at all? :(

pull top tray out ,at the back where the top tray connects is a large plastic nut unscrew it ,has the rubber behind it perished :?:

It hasn't perished, but I can see some water coming out of there, but as I mentioned earlier, connecting the garden hose pipe to the inlet and going at it full blast still didn't turn it, it's really weird!

Should the spinny thing (still don't know what it's called!) be really wobbly and loose?

Its the upper spray arm.
some times the actual pivotal centre may perish and the water pressure can be lost here.
does the upper spray arm turn free enough

It turns pretty freely, but rocks about and is very loose. When the machine is stopped it tilts over to one side and one end is pushed up against the upper basket - doesn't look right at all.

On removing the spinny thing and looking at the washer - it's almost like a black plastic washer and not rubber - this doesn't look right. Also, there is a clear piece of flimsy plastic that encircles the connection to the upper basket. The whole mechanism looks pretty poor to be fair.

I know it's not the greatest machine, and it is VERY noisey! But it used to wash really well!

its not a bad machine at all
just a little worn out
replace the upper basket spray arm and attachment and you'll be as good as new

Got my new upper spray arm thingy today, fitted it and it's bob on!

Thanks to everyone for the advice and help, really appreciate it!

:D
