Hi, wondering if anyone can shed some light on this problem?

I have a hotpoint electric oven, single, model SY56X

The oven packed in last week when missus decided to clean the inside, convinced she damaged the element, as afterwards it started tripping the fuse box!

I replaced the element and everything was working fine for a day, now the oven is blowing the wired fuse in the plug after it gets up to temp, usually 20 mins its lasting

What else could be causing this, i'm wondering whether the element itself is faulty?

Any ideas what it could be, before I throw more money at it!

Presuming you have put the correct size fuse in the plug, have you rechecked that no wires have been trapped or misrouted when you installed the new element. It is possible the new one is faulty, if you disconnect the wires from the element & then try the oven again & it works ok then that would tend to indicate it may be faulty.
