Hotpoint TCL780 Tumble Dryer Not Heating

Hello all,

Our Hotpoint TCL780 tumble dryer has stopped heating up. Everything else appears to be working okay with it.

I was wondering if it could be the thermostat components?

I’ve attached a photo of what I believe are the thermostats.

Just wondering if anyone had seen this problem before? Would appreciate any suggestions!

Have you checked the resistance of the heating element, to confirm that is working first?

Is the stat the two circular components on the photo? How do you check the stat other than replacing them?

We cannot tell, from the photos.

That, depends on the stat type. There can be simple on off thermal switches, or actual temperature sensors, feeding temperature data, back to the control board.

Simple check first - check the resistance across the heater element, to work out whether that has burnt out.
