I am concluding that this could turn out to be worse than it is if I embark on fascia that is scribed to the current slope. Not worth attempting I think.
I started out by thinking some wide profile dry verge caps would do the trick as it would hide the untidy bead of mortar under the undercloak but that's not had much support on here...
I think the verge overhang is too much for verge caps without cutting the verge back a bit (could be wrong tho and depends on the type you have in mind) and the caps would have to be pretty deep to cover the dodgy mortar line. Personally wouldn’t bother, but I guess it’s possible.
