How close to sockets can metal be please?

Hi all

Have sockets on my kitchen wall, I know the cable runs down from them all so nothing above them.

I want to fit metal bars across the wall like these

Obviously nothing will be hung over the sockets, but is there any danger of any arcing from something plugged in, to the bar if it's placed above a UK socket about as close as in the 4th pic down in the above link please (mine are stainless steel) .or am I being over paranoid?

With BS1363 UK socket outlets - no danger, since they all contain shutters over the socket holes.

With those vile USA type receptacles - anything could happen.
