How do I remove this electric fire?

Hi,

My brother-in-law called to ask for help on how to remove this (see below) but I have no experience with these and I can't tell from the picture. Is the trim attached to the device itself or to the surrounding wall? How do we remove the whole thing to replace it with a new one? Thanks.

The trim is often magnetic and can be removed without tools. Once the trim as been removed it maybe that this reveals fixing points.

Thanks but he's tried really hard to pull the trim off, to no avail. Any other ideas?

Try lifting it a bit and then pulling.

Trim may have to be lifted by about 3/4" before it is released from the fixing lugs

It might be fixed onto hooks. Try sliding it upwards, you may have to use a couple of levers under the bottom edge.

EDIT Too slow typing. but they can be very stiff.

Other wise look "inside" trim for screw heads facing into the fire.
