Hi experts

Trying to replace a torn drive belt on my old De Walt band saw. I have to remove the large pulley but can't see how it comes off. I've removed a threaded nut and washer but I'm puzzled as to why it doesn't simply slide off?

Do I need a special tool or am I missing something obvious?

Cheers

Steve

If its really tight you may need a puller, but soak the shaft and keyway with some WD40 or similar and try to heave it off again.
Also try putting the screw loosely back in and giving it a sharp tap as you pull.

Update - removed with your recommendations John - took some wiggling and a stern talking to and off it eventually slid. Brilliant. Many thanks.

Most welcome Steve - these are a pretty good bandsaw for what they cost, but those pulleys are die cast alloy and rather brittle so they don't appreciate being hit!
John :)
