Thinking of having the verges done in Plastic.

Are there any advantages to this ?

While taking the dog for its walk on a night I have noticed very shoddy workmanship on some of the dry verges around my area. What is the correct method for fixing them ?

Thanks

daz.

They are fixed in to the end of the tile batten
they are usually 25mm over gable end.
yours will probably need extending if done properly
Which means stripping tiles and extending tile batten.
Cowboys don't do it properly and do anything from screwing in to existing mortar verge and using expanding foam..

Agree with the above. The correct way to retro-fix is to remove tiles and extend the battens.
The shysters just fix into the verge mortar. Wakners the lot of 'em.

The question was asked for the benefit of all those hundreds and thousands of people who have cut brick gables and no barge.

The answer is to remove tiles and extend the battens. You're not one of these wakners that fixes to the verge mortar are you?

Thanks for all the help and ideas.

There seems to be more work to-do with Dry as there is in just Wet.
