How do you handcut 7" skirting boards

Could always use a router to replicate the moulding at an angle (essentially making a bevel-edge). Then external corners can be made without mitre.

Handy if you already have a router, but if you don't you might as well spend the money on a mitre saw!

Have you considered a manual mitre-saw? They start at about a tenner.
