How do you remove a starter from a fluorescent light fitting? I've tried to twist it but it won't budge.

Pliers,it might well fall to bits then you should able to use long nose pliers to remove the remnants, power off of course

1/8th of a turn anti-clock, looking at the top of the starter, then it should pull out. They sort of bayonet locate, into the holder.

That's the theory, but, for some reason, they do sometimes get 'well stuck' and, as crystal ball has said, it's sometimes necessary to destroy them with pliers and then fiddle around to get the remnants out.

Kind Regards, John

If its been flashing then it overheats and melts in, you will need to force it out unfortunately, though not always possible, if you want to you can snip the wires off and replace the cage.
