Hi

I want to replace the toilet in my flat but before I call in the professionals I would like to know whether it would be possible to remove the metal pipe connecting my toilet to the exit in the wall (see brown pipe in picture) and how easy it would be for a plumber?

I was hoping for a toilet that would be further back towards the wall so as to create a bit more space, but the exit in the wall (forgive my ignorance of the proper terminology) seems to be in an awkard place.

Any help or advice would be great - thanks in advance

If you cut the collar off the cast iron soil pipe close to the wall it will enable you to use a 90 deg elbow which will get you further back.

You could go for a concealeled cistern and back to wall pan which would be a lot neater.
