How high off floor for cooker gas point

just dealing with a house about 50 years old the cooker gas point is about 10 inches off the floor
..
is this acceptable nowadays ..
or should it be moved to some new British standard height
or as it is existing it can remain. ( as its not a new build house )..
just want clarification before sorting out
