How many hours for solvent joints?

Once a pipe run is made, how many hours does the solvent cement need to cure for before you can run water through the pipe?

I usually give it an hour or so if it needs to be used, but 24 hours would be better if you can.

It shouldn't need anything like that, it's not glue. It should be fine after only a few minutes.

Must be honest, I can sometimes be testing it 10mins after it's all finished.

They always say 24 hours....but try pulling the fekers apart after 5 minutes!
