How many spotlights?

Kitchen renovation.

Room is 4m x 4m with xhimney breast

- Was thinking 8 ceiling spots
- 2 pendants over breakfast bar 1.3m x 90cm
- 2 spotlights shining over hobs set in chimney breast

Is this overkill on lights?

Think son has 16, I teased him as was a fluorescent lamp, and the new LED lamps use slightly more power, and have slightly less lumen output. But dependent on ceiling hight, he has enough hight to have his wife's bike as decoration, he said she never rides it so clearly just for decoration.
