1950s. The perfect age - cavity walls, proper cement and not that daft lime rubbish, a damp proof course, clay tiles on the roof not concrete and they hadn't started all the crappifying they did in later years. Many 1970s houses were terrible.
 
This was the sort of rubbish they made in the 1970s...

They didn't even bother with walls, just a bit of 2x4 with tiles nailed to one side and plasterboard on the other. Basically a tall garden shed.

And cut & pitched roofs to make loft conversions easier!
