How to connect this switch, please?

Hi, I am new to this, but need to connect this switch. The old one was already disconnected before, so I don't know how it was connected

This was the old one. It was already disconnected. Don't know how it was connected

Given the way the black cores of the 3&E cables are linked together it looks like they are the wiring for an intermediate switch. If that is the case, then the brown and grey of one 3&E cable should go to the L1 and L2 terminals on one end of an intermediate switch and the brown and grey of the other 3&E cable should go to the L1 and L2 at the other end of the intermediate switch.

I would guess that the T&E cable is just a regular one-way lightswitch drop.

I am concerned to only see 2 earth wires, there should be one in each cable. That should be investigated.

It is rare to see a 2 gang intermediate switch sold as a pre-assembled product. So it is likely that to get one matching the rest of your accessories you will have to build it up out of a modular range.
