We have had a shower fitted and need now to fit the shower tray panel but the panel needs to be cut to fit around some pipework. Could anyone tell me what is the best way to cut this panel or should we use some other method of covering the gap between floor and shower tray.

Many thanks in advance.

You can buy a profile gauge which will give you the contours of the pipes you need to go round...but I'd have a mock up run using a piece of 3mm ply if you want the job to be perfect. Use a 16mm flat bit if the pipes are 15mm, or a 24mm bit if they are 22mm. Drill from both sides with the flat bit and 'gan canny'!
You can then use your template to draw the shape you want on the shower panel, after covering it with masking tape. A normal coping saw will cut the plastic, with care.
