Hi

I'm midway thru my first travertine tiling project. I've found it a very enjoyable experience so far, and I love how these tiles look (even though they're not sealed and grouted yet).

Here's my question:

I need to cut some tiles to shape - mostly straight cuts, some odd L-shaped ones too. I've got a hand tile saw which I've used before but it's hard going.

What's the correct way to cut these tiles?

They are all 10cm and about 6mm thick.

Thanks in advance for any advice

a watercooled diamond bladed cutter. trav is quite soft so even a cheap diy one will be fine.

p.s. dont mark them with a felt\pen use masking tape as any ink will get sucked in and through the tile
