I am trying to design a large airing cupboard. What I would like to have 4 2' 3'' doors flush closed. The two outermost doors hinged at their outside edges and the two inner doors hinged in the middle against each other.

If this even possible to have the two middle doors hinged down the centre line of the four doors? Maybe the inner doors could be on pivots?

Any ideas?

Not sure what you're after but….

either two pairs of doors, with a central "pole" in the middle of the four door gap. Each pair hinged on their edges, but restricting the overall gap.
or
Two pairs of bifold doors, hinged on the outer edge of the four door gap, usually using an overhead track, meeting in the middle.
one pair of bifolds hinged on the right, one on the left? - this gives greater access. a bit of smart thinking with recessed bolts might allow the central doors to open out for access while the outer ors stay put. depends on room.

Depends how the doors are constructed?
Could be hinges on centre panel edge with lay on hinges.
