How to draw windows?

Hello all.

I want to order a new window, but I'm unsure how to draw it for the window maker.

I have added a picture which shows where I would like the 'hinges' in pink.

Do i draw it as per diagram A or B?

Ha ha i knew it

I was always told the the point where the lines meet is the hinge side, surveyed 1000's of windows this way in my 20+ years and always got it right but if truth be told if you did it like 'A' then i'm sure the manufacturer would query it first

Was always told this when I've done my training, the point of the arrow are the hinges and the opposite of the arrow is the opening point for the window

It's 'B', and the lines indicating the hanging should be dashed, and ideally a bit lighter shade

And for dimensions, you need to state if they represent frame or brickwork opening size, and if a cill is required (and if the cill is included in the height dimension)

And don't forget about vents, or if escape hinges are required, or safety glass
